Leading regional law firm Howes Percival has appointed Alishia Marrocco as an Assistant Solicitor in its Family Law team. Alishia joins the East Midlands team and will primarily practice out of the firm’s Northampton office. She joins Howes Percival from Franklins Solicitors.
Alishia deals with all aspects of family law including separation, divorce, dissolution of civil partnerships, children issues, financial settlements, co-habitee disputes and domestic injunctions. As a member of Resolution Alishia believes in a constructive, non-confrontational approach to family law matters, where this is not possible, she represents clients in the local Courts.
Commenting on the appointment, Justine Flack, Head of the Family Law team in the East Midlands said:
“I’m delighted to welcome Alishia to Howes Percival. Our Family Law practice continues to go from strength to strength. We’re seeing an increased demand for family law and private client services in the region. While nationally there is a downward trend in divorce figures, we have particularly experienced a rise in divorce amongst couples around retirement age – so called “silver splitters”. Advising high net worth individuals in divorce proceedings, where there are complex financial relationships between the parties is the core of our work.
“At Howes Percival we’ve also experienced an increase in work stemming from couples who are in business together. Divorce poses a real threat to a business. If not handled correctly it can signal the end of your business, as well as your marriage. Therefore, business founders need to protect their enterprise and themselves. In an ideal world, that would mean putting in place a pre- or post-nuptial agreement, and having clear legal documents so that if a divorce does materialise, the business interests can be addressed with as little disruption to the business as possible.”
Howes Percival’s Family Law team provides a fully integrated and comprehensive service for high net worth individuals and family businesses. The team works closely with other legal experts within the firm to advise on all aspects of relationships and family matters, including those relating to children, property, family and farming businesses, estates, wills, probate, trusts and pensions.
Howes Percival’s approach is about helping to resolve family disputes fairly, speedily and cost effectively, hopefully without litigation. All Howes Percival family lawyers are members of Resolution, a national organisation of family lawyers and other professionals committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes.
Whilst the team will strive to get the best result for clients by agreement, they are also experienced litigators and will represent clients’ interests in Court robustly when necessary.
