Our Norwich office has been taking part in ‘Miles in May’ to support its charity of the year, TimeNorfolk. Miles in May encourages people to walk, cycle or run as many miles during the month of May to help support the fantastic work that TimeNorfolk does.
TimeNorfolk supports women, and their partners, who need support following a pregnancy loss or infant death. They also offer support to people facing an unplanned pregnancy and other pregnancy-related issues such as infertility and pre or post-natal depression. Jennifer Lee, solicitor at Howes Percival, completed her target of 200 miles of walking and running and commented:
“Taking the time out each day to walk a few miles gave me some time to wind down and clear my mind. I was often joined by friends or family and it gave us the time to have a ‘proper’ conversation which is so rare these days.”
Sharna McKay, who walked over 70 Miles in May, said:
"Knowing that the money raised is going to such a good cause is also rewarding and I hope to continue walking more going forward.”
Julia Parsley also spoke about her Miles in May experience:
“Although I run a lot, most of the time, knowing that I was also contributing to ‘Miles in May’ made me think and reflect on how fortunate I am to have two little boys. The heartbreak and utter sadness of losing a baby is incomprehensible and anything that can be done to support people experiencing such grief is such a worthy cause.”
Director Alice Liddle walked over 137 miles; some of which were covered on her holiday in Poland.
The office raised a fantastic £668.70 (£827.45 including gift aid) and walked over 539 miles in total.
