Howes Percival has once again won the award for the Professional Services category at the prestigious Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards 2018.
The annual awards celebrate the success and achievements of businesses across Milton Keynes in a wide variety of industries and sectors.
It is the second win for the firm which won the award for the Professional Services category in 2017. Howes Percival was also shortlisted for the 'Best Use of Social Media' award this year.
Edward Lee, a corporate partner based in the firm’s Milton Keynes office, said:
“Winning the ‘Professional Services’ award for the first time was a surprise given how new our office was but nevertheless an affirmation of how hard we had all worked to build relationships and profile within the MK business community. To win a second year is running is amazing and hopefully a sign we are getting it right. There is no doubt we have seen a significant uplift in the volume and quality of work this office has been involved with over the last 12 months”
Earlier this year, Howes Percival played a key role in the sale of cider maker Aspall to American brewing giant, Molson Coors and advised Mazars Financial Planning (MFP) on the acquisition of chartered financial planning firm, RCL Consultancy Limited. The firm also completed a series of transactions in the property and development finance and refinancing sectors with a total deal value in excess of £300 million.
Howes Percival’s other work in the MK business community includes working closely with local intermediaries in relation to the East West Growth Corridor (Oxford - Milton Keynes - Cambridge). In 2017, the firm launched a dedicated website to provide key information and advice for local residents and landowners who might be affected by this project (eastwestcorridor.co.uk)
Simon DeMaid, an employment partner also based in Milton Keynes, said:
“Being involved in the local community is very important to us as our success is due to how active and supportive the MK business community has been. As a firm we are committed to MK; you will see us supporting local charities, networking in the community and attending key events in the city.
As a firm we have grown and expanded in the past few years but we have never lost our local focus and connections when it comes to supporting MK and its community. Being a part of the MK success story is important to us.”
