Howes Percival wins Deal of the Year (under £10m) for Swann Systems MBO

Howes Percival has won Deal of the Year (under £10m) at the prestigious Dealmakers Awards 2023.

The annual Insider Media’s East Midlands Dealmakers Awards recognise high quality work from the top professional services firms in the East Midlands region. The categories are judged by a panel of independent experts and the winners were announced at a gala dinner event at the Nottingham Belfry.

In total, Howes Percival received five nominations for this year’s Dealmakers Awards including Corporate Law Firm of the Year, Deal of the Year (Above 10m) and Dealmaker of the Year, where Partner Jahid Ali was shortlisted.

The award for Deal of the Year (under £10m) went to the Management buyout of Swann Systems. Howes Percival was part of the adviser team which also included Santander, BHW, FRP Corporate Finance, Rowleys and Browne Jacobson.

The Howes Percival team, which was led by Jahid Ali, Oliver Brookshaw and Haydon Simmonds, advised the MBO team and the company.

The award organisers said,

“This deal was a classic succession done right, with a bevy of East Midland advisers and funders helping a management team take on ownership of the 50-year-old family-owned maker of car seats.”

Jahid Ali, a partner in the Corporate, Commercial and Banking team based in Leicester said,
