Howes Percival’s Corporate and Banking team in Cambridge has won ‘Business Law Team of the Year’ at The Cambridgeshire Law Society Legal Excellence Awards, while Victoria Sandell won ‘Senior Lawyer of the Year’.
Held annually, the awards recognise the achievements of lawyers and law firms throughout the Cambridgeshire region. This year, the awards were presented at a black-tie dinner which took place on 27 March 2025 at King’s College, Cambridge.
Howes Percival’s Corporate team in Cambridge advises clients on significant and transformational acquisitions and disposals, fundraisings, company and group restructurings, share buybacks, share options schemes and general corporate advisory matters.
Head of Howes Percival’s Corporate team, James Stephen said,
This award is a fantastic achievement for our team. We are grateful for the support of our clients and fellow professionals in the region who have been instrumental to our strong growth. The types of transactions we deal with are often complex and undertaking this kind of work is only possible due to the excellent technical knowledge we have in the team, so it is fantastic to be recognised for this. We are partner-led and have a very strong client focus - our clients are central to everything we do - and I think this also helps us to stand out in the market.
Victoria Sandell, promoted to Partner in the firm’s Dispute Resolution team, with effect from 1 April 2025, was presented with the ‘Senior Lawyer of the Year’ award. The team advises national and international organisations and individuals on commercial disputes and actively helps them find a resolution where possible. In addition to advising clients on litigation matters, the Cambridge team also handles insolvency and contentious trusts & probate work.
Victoria Sandell said,
I am honoured to have been recognised with this award and would like to thank my team and our clients for all of their support throughout my time at Howes Percival. Since joining the team, I have been fortunate to work on a wide range of complex matters and I look forward to continuing my work with the firm.
