Howes Percival has strengthened its team in Cambridge with the appointment of Stephen Patch as Partner and head of its Private Client team in the area.
Stephen joins Howes Percival from Shoosmiths where he led the High Net Worth division of their Private Client operation based in Milton Keynes. The move to Cambridge sees Stephen returning to the city, having spent a number of years advising clients in the area before taking up the role in Milton Keynes.
Stephen is an experienced Private Client solicitor specialising in estate planning for high net worth individuals, business owners, farmers and more recently professional sportspeople. He is full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and is also ‘top ranked’ in the leading professional directory Chambers and Partners - High Net Worth Guide 2022
The appointment is part of a national expansion plan for the Private Client team which has secured five new appointments starting between December 2022 and February 2023 to meet the demand for its services. The team is focused on high net worth individuals and families with complex financial, succession and estate planning needs.
Cambridge partner Jonathan Greenhalgh commented,
“We are delighted to welcome Stephen to Howes Percival. He is a very experienced lawyer and a fantastic addition to the team in Cambridge. Stephen is perfectly placed to extend our service in the city, having previously spent a number of years working in the Cambridge legal market and is well-known in the professional community for Private Client work.
“As part of our plans for growth, the Cambridge market has been identified as a key area to expand our Private Client offering. We have seen strong demand from clients for complex and high value estate and tax planning work and with the appointment of Stephen we have a clear plan to grow the Private Client team in the area and are again demonstrating our continuing commitment to the region.”
