Howes Percival has been recognised for its role in the Insider Media Central & East Dealmakers Awards’ ‘Deal of the Year (Sub £10m)’ - the acquisition of Broom Boats and Broom Marine Services by Horning Pleasurecraft.
The annual awards recognise professional service firms and individuals in the region who have excelled in dealmaking over the last year. The winners of this year’s awards were announced at a gala dinner event held in Milton Keynes on 7 November.
Howes Percival acted for Horning Pleasurecraft on the deal, which also involved Larking Gowen, Birketts, Shakespeare Martineau, Christie & Co and Lloyds Bank.
Howes Percival was named ‘Corporate Law Firm of the Year’ at the same awards in 2023 and was shortlisted 8 times for this year’s categories. The firm also won ‘Corporate Law Firm of the Year' at the East Midlands Dealmakers Awards 2024.
James Stephen, Head of Howes Percival’s Corporate, Commercial and Banking team said,
This is another brilliant achievement for the team and demonstrates the high-calibre of work we are undertaking across the region as well as the client-focussed service we offer. Congratulations to all the winners of the evening and well done to all those nominated for these prestigious awards.
Richard Turner, who led the team advising Horning Pleasurecraft on this acquisition said,
This was a great local deal to support which saw our client significantly expand its business to become a key provider of boating holidays on the Norfolk Broads and preserve the iconic Broom brand which is synonymous with boating and boat building on the Broads. Deal of the Year (Sub £10m) is a very competitive category and it is fantastic to have our team’s work recognised with this award.
