Howes Percival has embarked on a series of initiatives to celebrate Pride Month throughout June.
Activities include an LGBT+ ‘dictionary corner’ which aims to educate and explain the history of different LGBT+ terminology, an LGBT+ book and film club and a ‘Pride Day’ on Thursday 17 June where Howes Percival’s employees wore different colours of the Pride flag to mark the occasion. Staff have also been encouraged to sign up to various webinars about the history, present and future of Pride and LGBT+.
The initiative was led by the firm’s dedicated Equality & Diversity committee as part of its wider equality and diversity strategy which aims to ensure equal opportunities in the workplace.
Equality & Diversity Partner, Katharine Danks said,
“It has been fantastic to see yet another successful employee-led initiative which champions diversity and inclusion. Equality and diversity is a key strategic and business priority for us and we are thrilled that campaigns like this have been embraced across the firm. As part of our renewed strategy, which launched earlier this year, we want to deal with the full spectrum of issues relating to diversity and inclusion and it’s great to see how much has been achieved so far.”
