Another major deal for dedicated automotive team
Howes Percival’s dedicated automotive sector team has acted for Fortune 250 US-based international automotive retailer Group 1 Automotive UK Limited on its acquisition of Soper of Lincoln BMW/Mini.
The deal follows a series of high-profile transactions from the Automotive team, including acting for Group 1 Automotive UK Limited in July on its acquisition of multiple Mercedes-Benz dealerships from L&L Automotive.
Led by Corporate partner and head of Automotive, Tom Redman, the Howes Percival team included corporate lawyers Ben Hancox, Bradley Johnson and Olivia Robinson, with Faye Meredith providing banking support. Marcus Carter, Graham Jones and Charlie Harrison looked after property, while employment law was handled by Hannah Pryce, Anna Bithrey and Sobia Ahmad.
Commercial was managed by Paula Dumbill, Chris White and Mayoori Ravichandran, with Zara Khan, James Howarth and Stephen Ruse looking after IP and GDPR. Robert Starr and Stephanie Millerchip provided regulatory expertise, with Bilal Ehsan, Chloe Bristow and Amy Wright completing the Howes Percival team advising on immigration and company secretarial and governance respectively.
Tom Redman commented,
I’m delighted to have led the team acting for Group 1 Automotive on its acquisition of Soper of Lincoln. Hot on the heels of Group 1’s summer acquisition of multiple Mercedes-Benz dealerships which the Howes Percival automotive team also advised on, our automotive team’s depth of resource and specialist automotive-retail knowledge was once again key to support Group 1 as it continues to grow. We wish them every success as they integrate their new dealership into their existing portfolio.
