Following my previous communications regarding Howes Percival’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, I wanted to provide a further update on the action we’re taking following the Government’s latest guidance.
Since the lockdown, and like most businesses, we have been forced to approach our work differently. Fortunately, due to our continued investment in technology and our agile approach to work, we were able to seamlessly and quickly adapt to remote working. Over the past few months we have continued to take new instructions and find more creative ways of servicing our client’s needs. As we look to move out of lockdown, we will continue to ensure that, from your perspective, it will be business as usual.
The health and safety of our employees, clients and contacts is paramount and we have done all we can as a business to ensure our actions have minimised the impact of COVID-19. We will continue to do so. Like many other businesses we are now looking at how we can reintegrate our workforce back into the office safely. As part of this process we are planning a gradual phased approach which means that, in line with the Government’s return to work guidance, most of our staff will remain working from home for the immediate future.
You will not notice any difference in our service to you and, as ever, we look forward to speaking with you. But, for the time being, we would ask you not to come to our offices. Of course, we are really looking forward to a time where we can meet in person once again but, for now, we would like to encourage you to contact us by phone, email or video call wherever possible.
If there is no alternative and coming to our office is absolutely essential, we would like to reassure you that we have plans in place that will enable us to meet with you safely.
You will still be able to contact our lawyers by email, on their mobile numbers or through their direct landlines (which are currently forwarded to mobile numbers) and any voicemails will be forwarded automatically. A directory of our lawyers and their contact details is available here. For general enquiries, please visit: howespercival.com/contact/
All of our lawyers have access to Zoom and Microsoft Teams – remote conferencing services which allow us to conduct meetings with you online. We will send you an invitation to the meeting and you can attend using your computer of smart phone. Should you have an equivalent videoconferencing service that you would prefer to use, please let us know so we can accommodate this where possible.
Should you have any written correspondence with us, we ask that you please maximise the use of email and avoid post to help our colleagues minimise contact with others. Any post that is sent to one of our offices will be scanned and emailed to the intended recipient.
We are able to move money and handle completions in the usual way.
As ever, we are keen to help our clients mitigate the effects of the outbreak on their business and lives as much as possible and we continue to publish insights on our website as developments unfold. To receive relevant updates directly to your inbox, please sign up to our newsletter here.
Stay safe and, should you have any concerns or other queries, please do not hesitate to contact us via your normal contact at Howes Percival.
