Significant rises to the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) have now been approved by Parliament and will come into effect on 6 February 2024.
Currently set at £624 per person per year, the IHS fee will rise by a staggering 66% to £1,035 per person per year for those wishing to apply for entry clearance or leave to remain. The discounted rate for students, minors and Youth Mobility Scheme visa applicants will increase from £470 to £776 per person per year.
Individuals hoping to avoid this increase should submit their UK immigration application by 5 February 2024, where possible, to ensure they are not impacted.
